In 1802, British explorer Matthew Flinders named the island "Kanguroo(sic)Island" after landing near the Dudley Peninsula (Dudley Peninsula) on the north shore of Kangaroo Island. South Australia was founded in 1836, but there were already settlements on Kangaroo Island in 1820. The plane arrived at Kingscott Airport in the northeast of Kangaroo Island in half an hour, and then drove an hour to Flinders Chase National Park in the southwest. Hansen Bay Wildlife Refuge in the National Park is the place with the most wild koalas on Kangaroo Island. On the tree at the entrance of the restaurant, there are many wild koalas holding sloths. Some are with children. Some children don’t know what they are doing. Taking the top is looking at the world with the fourth eye, it is too funny. The visitor center of the reserve provides dining and accommodation. Hansen Bay Holiday Home (Hanson Bay Cabins) has one bedroom and two bedroom single-family villas with 360-degree invincible sea views. It is one of the best places to stay on the island. There is also one of the most luxurious hotels in Australia, the Southern Ocean Resort (Southern Ocean Lodge), at the southernmost end of Hansen Bay, 10 kilometers from the reserve.
